Let Me Poem by William Brooks

Let Me

(Let me use you!)
So I can breathe.
(Let me dropp you!)
So I can run from this pain.
(Let me steal you!)
And feel this life.

GO! Run away!
(It's growing inside of me.)
I can't control this any more!
(I must get it out.)

I love you! !

How did this happen?
Was it you, or was it me?
And now these feelings hold me captive.
My words hide from my mind.

(Let me hold you!)
To warm my soul
(Let me kiss you!)
Just once more
(Let me…..
JUST LET ME! !)

Now you're yelling.
(I can't take it)
Screaming in my face!
(One more word and I'll break)
Break away from this prison
Of so called love.

Why would you do this?
(Throw me at myself)
Betraying my trust
(With total confidence)
(Tie me down with my hear strings!)
Now I'm cutting them loose.

(LET ME KILL YOU! ! !)
Never will I stop
(LET ME QUIT YOU!)
I've ended the dependence
(LET ME BE ME! !)
Under your shadow I've been living

JUST LET ME BE FREE!
