Let Bygones Be Bygones Poem by Francis Duggan

Let Bygones Be Bygones

Don't ask me about it I don't wish to know
You nurse your old grudges your grudges do grow
Your grudge that was born four decades ago
The seeds of forgiveness you cannot sow
The wrongs and the rights of it not mine to judge
But why waste your energy on harbouring a grudge
Compared to some your grievance does seem quite small
Your years of harbouring resentment makes no sense at all
Hatred like a cancer eats your feelings away
It only does lead to spiritual decay
The past is the past and live and let live
And there is a time for to forget and forgive
Let bygones be bygones is all I can say
And learn from the past and live for today.
