Lesson Taught Poem by DAUGHTER OF A CRACKED MIND

Lesson Taught

Rating: 4.5

I was told to stand and hold
Two buckets of water by my side,
Arms raised, muscles ache,
When will they break?

Tendons stretched taut
Like the piano's strings,
Arms straining, fingers numbing,
Body shaking, muscles screaming,
Lips quivering from the strain,
How much more pain can they take?

Mind repeating stand and hold.
Hands burning, blood draining,
Eyes filling, tears streaming,

Clock ticking, seconds counting
Minutes passing, hour targeting.
Buckets dropped, lesson taught.
