Left The Church Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Left The Church

Rating: 4.0

Left the church.

Jesus is the man whom
I love and I respect
He was great, was rebel
Like Babak in Iran
"White Garments"

He was Jew, child of Jews
But the best anti-Jew
The rest is history.

He turned face and never
Asked for eye or the tooth
That was law of the Jews
Revengeful and cruel.
They still are savage and brutes.

With that love and the care
I am not Christian
It's became game of Pope.

I have book of the laws
Spanish, printed in Paris
It talks of many sins
Among them blasphemy.

The word is simplified
Talks of God, men of God
"Pepper tongue in the mouth
If third time, cut it out."

This is not of Jesus
It's Jewish, brutal
Such rules and the schools
In, around Canada
Kicked me out and is why
Lovingly I entered but soon left
Left the church forever.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

In Canada you are allowed to think for yourself and at least in my case I thought Why is this religion correct and all others wrong? There is a distinct probability that they are all wrong. hence I have gotten along without the churches for eighty-five years. Never hurt anyone and taken very little abuse from anyone. I am content in the belief that I have not missed a thing and my intelligence has not been denied.
