Leaves And Babe Poem by Harry Robbins

Leaves And Babe

In the spring trees give birth to vibrant green life
In a womb grows a pure loving soul
Protection from harsh rains that cut like a knife
Mother makes sure baby is safe and whole

Green turns to yellow and gold
Babe has no hate to ply
Slowly they go thru the airy fold
Crawl walk and soon start to lie

They muddle the ground ready to end
Hate and wanting turns pure to dark
Leaves become broken impossible to mend
Young one loses the righteous spark

Rain forms muddled wet ground
Years run by with no light to be found
Leaves turn to dust never to return
Man gives up and is ready to burn
