Laughter Poem by Rachel Blank

Laughter

Laughter, I love
Only if I’m involved
Laughter, I hate
When I can’t associate

I’d rather laughter just not be there
Cause when I hear it
I don’t know what it’s about
Are they making fun of me?
Are they talking about me?
Or is that just what I see?

It’s a taunting like laughter
And every time it comes near
It makes me scared
I never know what it is
That they’re talking about
I’m always in doubt

Always worrying whether they’re laughing at me
Laughter, I hate it
And I can’t control it
They’re taking over me
I wish it would just go away-
This laughter I hate
