Last Ride Will Poem by Plabita Bhaskar

Last Ride Will

Rating: 5.0

Eyelids shut on a summer day,
A thought wink-wink my mind.
How would I look like?
Post life ends,
Lifeless, worn or pale.

Spotlight on my body cast,
Eyes that stare around.
Sobs and sniffs and sighs perhaps,
Would echo my little town.

I recall once a princess, pale and dead,
No make-up and life looked weird.
So I fathom my death hour,
Would be as pale and sour.
If I tarry unadorned and blur.

So I merry go a decision made,
My corpse post death won't fade.
And promise ransom on my will,
To whoever adorns my day.

A silk white gown with pearls on it,
Silver shoes to pair.
My favorite lip shade, with fancy nail paints,
Garlands of lavender splayed.

My coffin scented, sparkled with stars,
My last ride on a Limousine.
Time to adieu the wanderlust,
Riding crazy on death's sharp pins.

Would death dare to stare who he,
Gutted to valiantly trap.
My soul show stopper
With my fellow souls dead
Would thence flee to heaven.
Go merry-merry far away.
Singing jingles, crossing the sun and the bay,
Promise to meet you mum, just another day,
Another life…

This is one of the first poems of yours I have read. It is beautiful, the thoughts therein stirs the heart. I have little doubt that you will become a great poetess someday. Mark my words. You get a perfect 10 for this. Keep writing!
