Lakehouse Poem by Jack Arnold

Lakehouse

Rating: 5.0

The lakehouse, we are on our way,
The car ride feels like an eternity in the baking sun,
When we arrive the grass feels like a perfectly fluffed pillow,
We see the soft waves rolling across the lake,
The sun smiling on the smooth sand,
The new smell, the new sights, the new sounds,
My dog runs like the wind towards the lake,
He jumps in and makes a splash the size of a boulder,
When we bite the watermelons the juice comes out like speeding bullets,
Almost as fast as the boat we ride in
Riding in the boat and the wind feels so good in my hair,
Then when we are close to the house we all jump in the lake,
We all get out and dry off with the blue dry towels
When we are all done we hop in the car and drive back
When we come back we feel all the same emotions as the time before.
