New day's morning light
With yellow sun rays bright
Reveal the virgin forest.
Drowsy tree stumps wake,
As crystal dewdrops make
A fresh sight from last night's rest.
A ladybug comes,
Crawls down a stump's nose, hums
Her song of life with much zest.
The stump looks at her
Eyes crossed to gaze closer,
Hears what ladybugs do best.
With red wings so fine,
She sang 'Hello sunshine! '
'You're crying? ' he asked in jest.
She danced down his nose
Made a ladybug pose,
Gave a squirt.... (you know the rest.)
It's a good lesson
To let ladies sing on
And not put their moods to test.
