Treasure Island

Tripsha Ghosh

(18 june 1997)

Kya nahi hai haq mujhe jeene ka?

Zindagi hai ye meri,
hai mujhe khulkar ise jeena,
bandishein na ho jahan,
hai woh kaun sa jahann,
ladki hoon toh kya hua,
kya nahi hai haq mujhe jeene ka?

Janam liya toh naam mila pita ka,
vivah ke baad naam mila pati ka,
banana chahti hoon khud ka astitwa,
kya itna bhi haq nahi hai mera,

jee liya bahut bandishon mein,
ab mujhe bhi hai khud ka astitwa banana?
Chahti hoon main bhi udna,
nahi band kar ab rehna,

naari hoon toh kya hua?
Kya nahi hai haq mujhe jeene ka?

I'd rather call him "Star."
It's very mean of Science
To go and interfere!

I slew a worm the other day—
