Kuyil Poem by Prabhakar Subramaniam

Kuyil

Rating: 5.0

All day long
I keep hearing
The kuyil's song
Though the sun is searing
And no breeze blows
All's not lost
The bird knows

Musfiq Us Shaleheen: ''its suppose to like a haiku'' ? ? ? ? ? A HAIKU is a poem of (usually) three lines for a total of 17 ''on''/syllables (os less) , according to the scheme 5-7-5, and it presents the juxtaposition of two images or ideas, with a ''kireji'' (cutting word) between them, plus - usually- a ''kigo'' (seasonal reference) - even if, in modern haiku, and more often outside Japan, the 'kigo' maybe absent. This one is - 'simply' - a very short but well penned poem.
