Know Your Worth Poem by Ogolla Enock

Know Your Worth

Origin, Identity, morality, and Purpose
are key. Once lost or sold, a person has
very little to offer and nothing left to lose

All he can do is either
retrace and regain what was lost or
entirely give up and give it away.

There are no free lunches,
someone must pay
someway, someday

But if the price is the abuse of morality,
denial of origin, rejection of identity,
or sacrifice of purpose, then it's not worth it.

Irrespective of remuneration
or consequences it is far too high
a price to pay. It's not worth it.

If they are willing to pay for it.
And persuade or coerce you to sell.
It's because its worth outweighs the price.

Before you come to the table.
Know your worth and space.
Not all things are not for sale.

A person who has lost their origin, identity,
morality, and purpose have very little
to offer and nothing left to lose.
