Knock Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Knock

Knock

For long this has been said:
"If you knock, shall open."
Knock, knock, knock
Someone there?

"Open eyes and be wise, "
Heard one say when I walked.
Attentive, turned around
To distance, saw no one…

It was me…all alone…

Knock, knock, knock!
Wished to see Troika!
A whirlwind of questions
Came, nippy, hurt head, face.

Knock, knock, knock,
Worthless was my knocking!
I questioned: "What is this? "

Saw the main three faiths,
Koran and both Bibles,
Escape and hide in caves,
With other religions
Sun came and the fog left
With long dead prophets!

Knock, knock, knock
Was a bush or tree, fruitless,
Nobody came to help!

Bars closed, late at night
I followed some drunks,
They sang and quite loud:
"See priests and Rabies,
And Muftis and Mullahs
They own the varied shops,
Funny are in their cloaks
Colourful, they disguise,
With textiles made of lies."
