Kaleidoscope Of Collaboration Poem by Rebecca Lyle

Kaleidoscope Of Collaboration

Rating: 4.2

Kaleidoscope of Collaboration

There was a kaleidoscope of collaboration
going on in the sunkissed room
Men dressed in every color of the rainbow
sat around were deciding the Fate.

A sea of uncharted alibis, stating the obvious lies
Relieving them of any potential blame
If there was to be a war, they wanted to make sure
They were unimpeachable on their part.

A child with a box of crayons should have joined the crew
As they drew the Collaboration of Death
Make sure there was lots of red for all of the dead
And, those who caused the mess, draw them
In invisible ink.

Draw the old men and women who sent the young in to die,
In yellow for their lack of courage, leaving many to cry.
Draw the religious zealots in question marks because God would never want his children to die needlessly.

Draw the greedy in black to show the colors of their souls.
To all the brave who fought draw them illuminous, they truly are the bravest of the brave.
They fight and die to keep you and I free with no thought for themselves.

Freedom does not come cheap in a world such as ours.

Political war gives sadness. Freedom does not come cheap in a world. This poem is very sensitive and thought provoking.10
