Just Once Poem by Zeeshan Shah

Just Once

JUST ONCE
(A father in Gaza)

I have no complaints,
I do not need compensations,
do I need anything?

My daughter is sleeping
like an angel,
quietly and calmly.

She asked me for a doll,
a doll with blue eyes and blonde hair,
which giggles, when you tickle.

But I did not get one.
There were no shops, no dolls,
but desolation.

My love wake-up just once
and listen to my plea,
just once, please.
