Just As The First Light Falls Through The Window Poem by Gert Strydom

Just As The First Light Falls Through The Window

Just as the first light falls through the window
I am already
on my knees
when my prayers go to the God of the universe

and I can already hear the joy of the birds outside,
while I carry my people, my country and my own things
to the loving Father,
and I try to whisper like a child in His ear.
