Just Another Lonely Summer Without You Poem by Calvin Boynton

Just Another Lonely Summer Without You

I was lying in bed getting ambition out of my head.
I lost my heart to you and sold my soul years ago.
When I tried calling you to let you know.
You don't bother to answer the phone.
I've been feeling so alone.

Why can't you give our love another try?
Instead you make me cry.
Because it's just another lonely summer without you.

I know you see me as a friend.
Remember when we kissed and held hands?
Is our love too far away like a Cirrus cloud in the sky?
Is it something we can mend in time?
It could be just another lie.

Why can't you give our love another try?
Instead you make me cry.
Because it's just another lonely summer without you.

I was a fool for entrusting you with my heart.
The things you did tore us apart.
There is nothing you can say.
To bring us back to that happy day.

Why can't you give our love another try?
Instead you make me cry.
Because it's just another lonely summer without you.
