Just Another Disappointment Poem by Rose Marie Cook

Just Another Disappointment

Words aren't as hurtful
As the one speaking them
Just talk until someone, who used to care,
Actually means it.

You know when you messed up
When the one person that believed in you
All the time, especially when you needed it,
Gives up on you.

When you realize it's really over
That they've finally had enough
And secretly you wished they'd
Always be there.

You trusted their words over everyone else's
It stung the most, no matter how many times you've heard it
You thought you finally found the one who could
Endure all of you, but you were wrong.

So which pain is worse?
The sting of their words or
The fact that they were like everyone else; just another disappointing hope gone wrong?
I honestly can't say, I'm still getting over the shock of it ending this way.
