Just A Gumshoe (Part 6) Poem by Dee Daffodil

Just A Gumshoe (Part 6)

Rating: 5.0

A week had passed
And he had curled up inside his bottle
Shaken...no rocks!

He hadn't heard a word from Annie
And he feared the worst
He searched newspapers daily
For some word of her demise
But nothing...
Nothing but...
Sleepless nights...and blurry days...
When it finally happened,
He was so 'under the weather'
That he almost didn't notice

A poem...posted...by Annie Bell
'My Knight in Shining Armour'

He read...and cried...and drank....
Read...and cried...and drank...
He gave himself crap for crying...
And then cried even harder...

Annie Bell..Sweet, sweet Annie Bell
Was still alive...
And by all appearances...
Living the life of Riley
On a beach in Hawaii...

If he left now...he would draw them right to her
And if he didn't...
She might well be gone
By the time he found her...
A chance he would have to take...
Because as long as her heart beat...
He knew he would be able to find her...
No matter what...

Dee, this is a great ending and you still keep us hanging there. More to come no doubt further on down the line somewhere. Great series. Thanks for sharing it my friend. David
