Joy Is My Relief Poem by Conrad Reed

The joy in my soul is so effervescent and it feels so good-
It's like Alka Seltzer to someone suffering from heartburn.

When you believe and find happinesss within yourself,
the smoldering desire is extinguished and you no longer yearn.

There's no more reflux of bitterness from past hurts-
Just because I began to sit still, listen, and discern.

My insides have been acidic and my heart did ache,
but now knowledge has brought some cessation as I learn.

As I partake of this relief tablet that has been given to me,
every fizzing bubble of life that fills me, calms my pain and heals my heart in turn.
