Jolly Ol' May Poem by Ima Ryma

Jolly Ol' May

In England to merry up May,
Folk dancers perform, heart and soul,
And entertain in fun display
With fancy steps around a pole.
For centuries such dancers bring
Their sights and sounds in the pursuit
Of welcoming in a new Spring,
Performing a lively tribute.
'Round and 'round the May pole, folks dance,
Joy afoot, each and ev'ryone,
A time and place to share enchants,
In moving sense of having fun.

In England, May pole dancing be
A tradition to make merry.
