Jesus Walks On The Water Poem by Doris Clore Demaree

Jesus Walks On The Water

Some things we do not know how it is,
We only know it is so.

That's how it was the day
Jesus' disciples rowed across the lake.

While they were gone
Jesus went into the mountain to pray.

After dark a storm came up
And the disciples feared their boat would sink.

As the waves rocked the boat
They saw someone walking on the water.

'Help us!' they cried.
'Fear not!' came the answer. 'It is I.'

Peter started walking to Jesus
But he was afraid and began to sink.

Jesus took his hand, got in the boat, and the wind stopped.
'You are the Son of God!' marveled the disciples.
