Jaded Poem by Tiya Sen

Jaded

Who are you to tell me,
How and what I can be?
How can you make me feel like garbage?
How can you get rid off me after satisfactory usage?
Who gave you the right to make me feel so ugly?
Who gave you the right to treat me so cruelly?
Let me remind you I’m not just a commodity,
And neither am I your undeserving trophy.
Just because I love you does not mean I don’t deserve to be loved.
And my silence does not mean I’ll dodge all the punches that are hurled.
So take this as my ultimatum or my final word for all I care,
If you don’t love me right from this instance I have no plans of being there.
You can go find yourself another heart to break,
As I have run out of reasons of bearing up with your cruelty that I used to take.
I hope someday you know how it feels to be spent and jaded,
Because only then you will know how it feels to be bitter when you know that all your love has faded.
