Jacob 'My Son' Poem by Rhonda Lewis

Jacob 'My Son'

I pushed you out my handsome boy,
Squeezed you tight as if you were a toy.
I was enchanted by your eyes,
So full of life and questions I dont lie.

Ten hours it took for you to come,
Could'nt wait to take you home.
Now your fifteen years old and if I'd known
The joys and tribulations you'd bring,
I'd do it again and make it the same!

You are my heart, and soul,
Your my sunshine on a cloudy day.
I miss watching you grow and learn,
It's so cloudy I cant help but yearn.

Yearn to see your laughing face,
even misbehavin and put in your place.
You are a very special young man.
your personality your own.
There was a different road you went down,
your way you found on your own.

To be so tough and strong,
you were so sweet and gentle.
Yet you could pitch some major fits,
But so cute I wanted to hug you instead of give you licks.

As parents we taught you as best we could,
taught the difference from bad and good.
You have always been very bright,
Yet here you are failing school, is that right?

Dont understand this,
only you can fix it.
This isnt who you are,
you used to be such a star.

I know our seperation hurt you,
and I'm sorry for that to.
But thats no exscuse for you to give up,
It's time to get out of this fog your in,
I'm coming up and this has to end.

Enjoy your youth, It comes only once.
You dont get a second chance to do it again.
so come out jacob wherever you are,
comeout, come out, together again we are.
love your mom
