It Matters Not Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

It Matters Not

These days we live,
It matters not.
Who it is that says what,
With grace, respect and dignity.
Heartfelt to witness and feel,
The sincerity tearfully.
And emotionally expressed.
When a self anointed group,
Has been made to perceive themselves...
Entitled to defend,
False beliefs.

False beliefs,
Unknown to have been...
From a history re-written.
Emphasizing values and standards,
Erected to be built...
In steel and monumental,
Immovable conrete.

Memorializing symbols and images,
To idolize, worship and praise.
For centuries to implement,
Although created to imagine.
Regardless of the truth.
And what that truth is to be.
Concealed from a reality for what it is.

These days we live it matters not.
How sincere one is,
To speak with grace, respect and dignity.
In these times when the truth,
Spoken to speak it to reveal...
More offends those protecting delusions.
And lies told to tell,
Given life to breathe.
From one generation to the next.
Accepting to expect what has been told,
As a reflection of reality to live it!
A reality to endorse and support.
When this effort to endeavor,
Attempted to prevent truth known...
Begins to crumble before the eyes,
Of protesting nonbelievers.

It matters not who does what to do,
When truth eventually speaks for itself.

"Why the uproar?
What has incensed all the confusion,
Division and conflict? "

-The presence of truth has done this! -

"Oh?
Where is it? "

-That's the problem.
It's everywhere.
All over the place.-

"And...
What are you using to defend yourself? "

-Denial.
Others weapons we have discovered,
To be useless in our defense against it! -

"I see.
Well, good luck to you.
This war you fight,
May never end anytime soon.
But...
Who knows?
Denial to keep is a monster to defeat."

-Thank you for those positive words.-
