It Is Enough Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

It Is Enough

It is enough

In my time
I was born in Feshark
Fat meant light no candle
Until came kerosene and the wick.

In my time
Fruit was fresh and;
When dried it was saved
For winter; along with produce.

In my time
We walked and
Used donkey for trips
Food was made of milk, sheep
Earth, water, clean air; everything.

In my time
The goat's hair
Made thick ropes
Spinning stood men
By the walls, smoked pipes.

In my time
When forced to
We left for city life
Esfahan taught me much
The core of growing was Tehran.

Then came the USA
True love and her loss
Took pills for suicide
Saved, returned to Iran,
Travelled inland, out…
And crossed the borders
Countries, as are called
Around if not over fifty one.

Now therefore is enough
Let me the go, see and learning
Out of which came nothing
I believe the best is being gone.
