Ironic Beggar - Poem by Leonard Dabydeen

How
Daunting
This picture
On the one hand
Cigarette burns and the other open.

His eyes peering at the empty sidewalk
And his stomach
Cries for a
Morsel
Food.

Poet's Notes about The Poem

Poverty. Homeless people. Hungry.
