Inspiration Poem by Sana Olivia Hernandez

Inspiration

I'm looking for inspiration,
To write a wonderful poem.
I'm sick of this hesitation!
Writer's block is a blindfold.

The American novelist Jack London, who wrote dozens of novels, said, You have to go after inspiration with a hatchet. Your approach is not violent like his, but like London, you see it is your responsibility as a writer to FIND your inspiration, not wait passively. The image of writer's block as a blindfold is so on target! If we look intently, deeply, persistently, we will SEE what we must write. This is the kind of short, sharp, immediately convincing poem that people who don't read poetry can learn from.
