Insomnia Poem by Judy Jones

Insomnia

Rating: 1.0

I lay awake
in anticipation
Excitement
Fear
I want to tell you everything
I want to show you everything
I want to give you everything
But what will you do with it?
Will you embrace it
and not let it out of arm's reach?
this time around

Or will you throw it back after the weekend?
Because my heart is getting a little beat up
from all this tossing
I've grown very tired
and I'm ready to sleep

Your title got me curious-periodically I suffer from that-I guess it gets worse with age too. Most of the time I get insomnia from the 'excitement' part you speak of. I like your last line...ending with sleep...it's as if you finally got to sleep as that's the last thing you say :) -nice
