Inside In Poem by Alice Affi

Inside In

Rating: 4.8

If only you could see
What's inside of me
I long to set it free

Within me is a deep deep ocean
Reaching as far and as wide as a galaxy
Filled with burning bright stars
Ablaze with passion
And desire for compassion
They rejoice with all that is good
Surrounded by a love which is longing to leap out
And set my spirit free

Yet this remains in the very centre of me
Trapped in a protective hard shell
It cannot come out
It can only peek and behold the outer me
Which it longs to reign over
To be set free

You cannot see me
As my outer flesh travails
Creating misery
Inside in outside out
If only you could see me.

Wonderful piece of poetry Alice. 'Within me is a deep deep ocean'. What a terrific line and I can relate to this poem also. Someone who is so adept at examining their inner self is way ahead in the game of life. Some of us never get there. Cheers....Dan

I relate to this.....sometime we hide ourselves for fear of whatever....and we just want to be loved for everything that we are...yet we still hold back...maybe one could see us better if we opened up our inside and learned not to hide...nice write Alice...you have a great start....Write on!
