Inequality Poem by Daniel Trevelyn Joseph

Inequality

Saw the crane on the tree
At eye level towards Guru Nanak hospital
So, white even Joti and Tilla commented:
I felt that despite the mud
And black sewage where he forages,
He is looking spotlessly white.

We in Tamil literature read
Of lotus coming out of the mud;
But not so much of white crane
Pure as ice in similar environment
If not, worse? Unequal treatment.
Prevails everywhere in Life as in Nature.
