Indian Vaidya, Herbalist, Medicine-Giver Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

Indian Vaidya, Herbalist, Medicine-Giver

Indian vaidya,
Medicine-giver
Suggesting roots of grassy plants,
Local indigenous pastes,
Onion juice for upset bowels
And nausea and vomitting,
Lemon leaves to check nausea
By smelling it,
Neem leaf paste on boils
And cuts,
For disinfectant purposes,
Garlic as pain-killer
And immunity-giver,
Turmeric powder and lime paste
Heated to be applied on
For sprains,
Basil leaves for taking
To get relief from
Cough and cold,
Lemon juice drops, water and sugar
Mixed sherbet
For energy,
Bel for constipation,
Germinated gram and others
For clear bowels and eye-sight,
Sometimes paan for digestion.
