Independent (2) Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Independent (2)

I know what you think about me
I can be the one who buy you things
Smiling like you've won a trophy
But I ride solo I'm my greatest company
I don't care what you feel about this
Have to put you on the blacklist
Cause you falling short of fifty
All in fairness you are dismissed

If I wanted shoes for my feet
If I wanted stylish clothes to wear
If I wanted ice for a full complete
That's nobody but me
If I wanted a cellular phone
If I wanted a house to own
If I wanted a car
it's set in stone
That's nobody but me
Cause I'm on it.

Always have been independent
Rocking my own money
Life is lovely, tell you bluntly
Rocking my own money
copping dollars is an honor
Rocking my own money
Hear me loudly, Hear me proudly
Rocking my own money

I know what you thinking of this
How could I not want how I live?
Making sacrifices isn't easy to get
It's a price when you independent
You won't learn that chasing ideals
When you depend on others for what you want
Bragging like you have the right to flaunt
Busters always got to put on a front
