In The Presence Of The Princess Poem by Mike Kosman

In The Presence Of The Princess

Rating: 5.0

In the presence of the princess
With the summer all around
There beside the blooming gardens
And amoung the massive hounds
Her visit now was over
Like the blinking of an eye
And as dark clouds formed above us
We embraced and said good bye

Her knight in shining armor
Walked with confidence and pride
His words were reasuring
As he readied for the ride
My arm outstreched and waving
As the big green bird took flight
I knew he would protect her
I knew she's be all right

Now I stood there by the roadway
Bleeding from my soul
Fighting my emotions
Feeling less than whole
Then I pulled from deep within me
All the love and joy she brings
And I knew that I've been blessed beyond
The treasures of a king

Reminds me of daddy's girl leaving home. Delightful and beautiful piece.
