In The Mirror Poem by Brittani Martin

she looks in the mirror, ashamed of what looks back
at first sight notices what she lacks,
she isn't pretty nor to bright
and cries herself to sleep each night,
hates getting up in the morning and going through the day
afraid of what others have to say,
they taunt tease and laugh at her
she just can't take it anymore,
as she wipes mascara from her eye
she whispers to herself 'i just want to die'
someone once asked her do you believe in forever
she just laughs because she don't even believe in tomorrow,
once again she looks in the mirror
doubting she's going to make it through this year
