In The Cold Morning After The Winter Rain Poem by Shalom Freedman

In The Cold Morning After The Winter Rain

In the cold morning after the winter rain
With the sudden sun beautifully opening new worlds
I contemplate my own absence of destination
How young and free are those on the road setting out
While I with all the time in the world
Let my soul sink for a second in sadness and regret
Only to have the beauty of the light lift my eyes in hope
To the newly blue - white sky.
