In Flights Of Fancy Poem by Francis Duggan

In Flights Of Fancy

Rating: 3.0

In flights of fancy i can hear again
The bullfinch singing in the wind and rain
When hawthorns wear their white blossoms of the May
Far north of here and in miles far away,
The white breasted dipper singing in the stream
His voice has followed me across the World 'twould seem
And by the hedgerow along by the bohreen
Bluebells, snowdrops and primroses in plenty to be seen,
The swallows wings they almost touch the ground
As above the fields they chirp and fly around
The flying insects they feed on near to the ground fly
When rain clouds cloak the day's lamp in the sky,
All down the years and across miles of land and sea
The past it seems to keep on chasing me.
