In A Barren Field Poem by Roger Harrison

In A Barren Field

Rating: 5.0

Lonely man standing in a barren field

waiting for love to arrive

From cradle to grave without hope

just trying to survive

Through cold winter nights, hot summer days

no one by his side

Searches his memories but can't seem to find

when his heart died

Underneath the heavy ever pouring rain

misery drowns him so

No one to share in his despair

the pain does flow

Lonely man standing in a barren field

waiting for love to arrive

Stands there every day and night

holding every tear he's cried

An insightful depiction of loveless life in lonely deplorable condition of depression, well articulated and nicely penned in poetic diction with conviction. Lovely piece of poetry that portrays stagnation of life at its lowest ebb. Thanks for sharing Roger. Please read my poem THE OBSESSIVE AGONY OF LUST.
