Implemented Without Consensus Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Implemented Without Consensus

An agenda to implement,
Without a consensus...
As to its purpose and strategy.
May leave others feeling,
A senseless uselessness...
Attempting to convince,
One who has implented an agenda.
Done to do without thought,
Of the consequences to pay.
Especially if one,
With a mind childish and incompetent...
Refuses to hear,
Recommendations and suggestions given...
From those who had been chosen to provide,
Not only their wisdom, skills and talents.
But also told,
What they may have gained in experience...
To obtain their knowledge,
Makes absolutely no sense...
If the agenda that has been implemented,
Is in need for an explanation...
From one who believes if others are so wise,
Why did they not present an agenda...
First to prove,
Their actions to be...
Equally thoughtless and implusive.

"Uh...
Your Magnificence.
This is how this business normally works.
You consult with us.
And then 'together'...
We come up with an appropriate decision."

-Well...
As I'm sure all of you notice,
From where you sit.
Which of us is sitting even higher?
And not only that.
I have more eyes focused on me.
Than my two eyes,
Are temporarily focused on you.
Not that I am 'the chosen one'.
To keep that repeated.
However...
Whenever I choose to change my mind.
It will be mine to change.
And all this talk about a 'togetherness',
Has never made sense to me anyway.-

"So...
What should we do? "

-About what? -

"The CRISIS you have started! "

-Give them any explanation.
Just keep me looking good.
And be supportive of whatever I do.-
