Imagine Poem by Julia West (julesx 64)

Imagine

Rating: 5.0

Imagine you are looking down from a height,
Almost like a bird in flight.
Today God's sun is warm but not too hot,
A good feeling on my wings - is what I got!
Absorb the beauty and space all around,
At times you marvel and soar way above the ground,
But also confidence daring you to go,
Where you really feel is much too low.
Past fields and trees - Past sheep in flocks,
Even past a farmers wife, hanging out her knickers and socks.
You fly round again, Wow those knickers look big enough to build a cosy nest in!
Oooh.... with these nesting paternal insticts - Peace and quiet my nest will never win!

Now imagine you are at child height,
She is throwing a ball with all her might.
To her imaginary friend,
Who is only pretend!
But to this girl, her friend keeps her lonliness at bay,
As she runs, and laughs, and generally plays.
God looks on and smiles with pride,
As the little girl, again runs to hide.
Then her mum calls her in for tea,
Just remember, God has smiled like that, for you and for me.

Now imagine you are smaller still,
Almost like one of ten thousand ants, Marching up their huge hill.
Life sometimes feels like that Humongous Mountain,
Where feelings of failure cascade through our minds, like fountains.

It doesnt matter how big or how small,
How high we fly or how low we feel when we fall.
The love of God, our neighbours and friends
Help to refocus life's challenges,
Back Into the real time of Now;
Not our sometimes distorted or IMAGINED perspectives.
