That's right my friend, I'm turning 80
But it doesn't seem to bother me
The time goes on day after day
It is just a double number to me.
I look back on my life every so often
It is like reading chapters in a book
I take it out and thumb through
Just once in a while to take a look.
It really doesn't seem to make sense
That so much time has gone by
So many people flowed through my life
Life an autumn leaf floating by.
Some made a difference, for sure
But some, I do not know each name
I could have changed the chapter
Then, of course, it wouldn't be the same.
But it stayed the same, so here I am today
Cracker Barrel, I'll be on my way
Along with people I love so much
We will celebrate my 80th birthday!
