I'm Dead Poem by Fengchang Gao

I'm Dead

I'm dead

I died suddenly

I haven't had time to say goodbye to my family

I haven't had time to make arrangements

I'm dead

From then on, there is no soul, no thought, no memory, no emotion

From then on, everything in the world

No longer has anything to do with me

I'm dead

Parents shed tears over the loss of their beloved son

I will not give them a word of comfort and persuasion

They will no longer ask whether they are healthy and whether there are difficulties at home

Because they have nothing to do with me anymore

I'm dead

I don't care whether my wife is still young and beautiful or whether she will get married

And don't worry about how their orphans and widows live

Because they have nothing to do with me anymore

I'm dead

When I got home, I shouted excitedly 'Dad is back' and stumbled to the little boy who let me hold him high

And it doesn't have anything to do with me anymore

I won't worry about whether he has eaten well or studied well

He will no longer worry about whether he has been bullied by others and whether he has grown up healthily and happily

I'm dead

All my relatives and friends no longer have any relationship with me

I don't care if any of them will think of me or comment on me

I won't pay attention to whether anyone will come to my 'circle of friends' to praise

I'm dead

The body that brushes his teeth, washes his face, combs his hair and dresses every day

And it doesn't have anything to do with me anymore

Let it be exposed in the wilderness, decomposed naturally or burned to ashes

I'm dead

The real estate, cars and deposits for which we have struggled

And it doesn't have anything to do with me anymore

Even if the family turns against each other and goes to court for it

I won't mediate for them

They will not be sneered at or sneered at

I'm dead

I love thousands of mountains and rivers, thousands of flowers and thousands of trees

And it doesn't have anything to do with me anymore

Even my favorite flowers surround my body

I can no longer see its beauty and smell its fragrance

I'm dead

From then on, there is no soul, no thought, no memory, no emotion

From then on, everything in the world

No longer has anything to do with me

I'm dead
