Im A Wage Slave Poem by Stephen Pennell

Im A Wage Slave

Im a wage slave, oh yes I am
I work from 8 till 5 until I drop
I pay my rent and feed a car
Fill my freezer and pay my way
And then my bank balance is at zero again

I'm a wage slave, oh yes I am
I have no choice as im ruled by my wage
I might as well wear shackles and chains
As I'm just a company asset that's up for sale

I'm a wage slave, oh yes I am
If I get sick that's not allowed
If my loved one dies, I might get a week
I must do as I'm told or face the sack.

I'm a wage slave oh yes I am
Now what I want to ask, are you one too.
could you feed your family and the cat
Or are you a wage slave too

Sorry Rudyard Kipling for nicking the title nearly
