The Ex Poem by Stephen Pennell

The Ex

You give of your soul, your being everything that matters
Time, Thoughts, your waking hours , you learn her favourites
What she likes, you spent your time checking her treats out
Plans are made to please and make her smile
To get a thank you or a smile is all that you desire
Her family is her pride and joy, So you help to make their day
A happy daughter or son or mum would get the smile you crave
Day on week on year you graft just to please
And then one day, she tires of you and pushes you away
