have you ever seen a dead man?
have you ever felt his skin?
have you ever seen an open cut,
and seen the things within?

have you ever held a rifle?
have you ever shot a man?
have you ever felt the pressure,
that only a fight for death can?

have you ever seen a war?
have you ever run out of time?
have ever looked upon,
the eyes that used to shine?

have you ever smelled death?
have you ever seen it rot?
then how can you speak so lightly
of all the wars you forgot?

how can you ignore the wars?
how can you pretend to forget?
how can you not shed a single tear,
when you cried for your pet?

take these words
put them in your head
and when you watch the news
think of all the tears that is shed
