If You Say &Quot;Heaven Is Mine&Quot;

IF YOU SAY "HEAVEN IS MINE"

If you say "heaven is mine"
Then you should have
Been poor in spirit
This will lead to a state of
Spiritual poverty

When you recognize
Your need for Christ
You are overwhelmed
By the sorrow of your sin
You mourn and grieve
As you sit in the school
Of affliction with Christ

You then learn humility and
Lowliness of heart
Pressing forward by hungering
For the perfection of your conversion
Being unalloyed and untainted
By sinful gratifications

In that aspiration to see God
You take the gospel to others
Making peaceful their world
In this earth of chaotic disorderliness

As you avow the gospel of peace
Then the old serpent appears with fury
Persecuting you for your good deeds
Men call you all sorts of names

You become a spectacle
But in remembrance of the former peacemakers
You rejoice because your reward is in heaven
Then that saying "heaven is mine" is fulfilled
