If You Don't Care Poem by Peter S. Quinn

If You Don't Care

I don't know you
for you have left me,
that's all gone through
and we both are free.
The times are a changing
with everything we do,
and in new ways arranging
that now come through.

You did never care
you thought I'd always be,
standing right there
for you to notice me.
But now this all is gone
and never coming again,
times just move on
in pleasures and pain.

You might wish I's here
so, you could say something,
but if you don't care
love becomes nothing.
And everything we were
would not for a long stay,
it would go to somewhere
to find another day.

Poetry must not always be sweetest, very true. An excellent poem about carelessness and from being loved to separation, because love is no more betwixt. Thank you for sharing, Peter!
