If I Don't Finish This Fight.... Poem by DOMINIC PREMPEH

If I Don't Finish This Fight....

In case I don’t finish this fight
Take over and fight on
If I lose concentration, which I will never
Help me to focus again and shoot
Should I miss steps and fall, which is real
Help me to rise and move
That makes you, too, a freedom fighter

This fight is never meant to liberate me
But for the maligned, oppressed and hurt
Their heaves and sighs are my pain
Their tears are my sweat of sorrow
And their fall will be my failure
So should I quit this battle, consciously or not!
With or without reasons, Take over and fight

Fate brought me here, for a purpose
To fight for the weak
And to speak for the minority
But if my strength does not carry me all out
Or if my conscience alters against this war
Then you better take over
That makes you the next generation

They will do these to you as they are doing now
And as they did to our fore-fighters
Pinching, back-stabbing, hating and framing you up
They will confuse you with personal problems
So to let you forgo the battle
But, their back-stabbing you should never mind
Because you are in for a purpose

I will never back off, never
For God knows I am poised for change
But if in the course I fall
Take over and fight
You might change the tactics or the arena
But not the subject or the destiny of the fight
And that is the freedom fight.
