If Poem by Sarita Milliner

If

If I could live for 1000 years, I would turn this world around,
Change darkness into sunshine and up right every frown!
I would blanket the land with laughter, using the dew from the trees
And shower each person with blessing, too wondrous to believe!

If I could live for 1000 years, I would right every wrong,
I would bring us all together, and write a new "Preamble" song!
Lyrics of equality and justice, would remain as part of the stew,
Seasoned with love for our fellow man, not just a selected few!

If I could live for 1000 years, I would throw caution to the wind,
Do all the things that I've never done, and go places I've never been!
I'd spend but a little time, reflecting on negativity or strife,
Then in the end, I'd thank God, for his favorable blessings of Life!
