I'd like to dream
all our troubles away.
Dream of a coming day
when the grapes upon the vine
fall into crystal cups
like sweet summer wine.
I'd like to awake to find
a light heart, and easy mind,
awake to birds in song
for the worries long gone,
awake upon a new world
within a new time.
Here where bold dreams seem so far
underneath those distant stars,
do we dare dream such a dream
in the night so cold, so mean?
I'd sleep on a bed of nails
if that's what it'd take
to make the foundations shake,
to cause the earth to cry
and bring that dream alive.
I'd love to leave this old world
in a dream
riding a wave upon
a bright new sunbeam,
and take all those
who dream like I do
away, way over there from where
the dreams come calling,
calling for me and for you.
I am a big dreamer. I think it is an answer to staying positive. How the world has changed drastically since our youth. Leaving this world in a dream certainly sounds like a beautiful way to depart. Happy Christmas Smoky

hey, smoky! the longing you express in this poem is much like, it seems to me, what I express in my poem titled imagine me. with you in this dream (God's dream!) , glen
